I like to minimize the amount of time I am working on meals. I like to work in bulk. For instance, today I took out 3 packages of hamburger (0.7 kg or so each) with the intention of, in a couple of days, once they have defrosted, mixing up some hamburger patties and cooking them all up. Once they are done I'll eat a couple, package a bunch up and take them to work for a couple day's worth of lunches, and freeze the rest. I've been doing this sort of thing for a couple of years now and have it down to an art form. I'm still improving a little here and there but for the most part my system is working out quite well. The only drawback is I get a little tired of having the same thing for lunch or dinner 2, or 3, or 4 days in a row. But that is the price of effeciency. I couldn't imagine going back to the old system of making dinner every night with only enough leftovers for the next day's lunch. That just doesn't work and it stresses everyone out.
